500 g molasses, 500 g honey, 2 spoonfuls of sugar, 325 g roasted and peeled almonds, 2 egg whites, crushed aniseed and maize gofio.
Mix the molasses with the honey and stir while heating the mixture on the hob. When it comes to the boil, remove from the heat. Whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks, add the sugar and mix with the almonds, aniseed and as much gofio as the mixture can take. Cook on a low heat for 1 minute. The paste should not be too hard as it will harden as it cools.
